Introducing Whitespace Crew

Putting your crew first.

Technology shaped by operational reality.

Whitespace Crew is an intuitive in cab mobile application built around the operational reality of frontline waste and environmental service teams. It helps crews receive, complete and evidence their work simply and reliably, keeping teams connected and helping essential services continue to run smoothly, even when priorities change. Operational teams receive real time visibility of progress, completed work and reported issues throughout the day.

Launching at RWM 2026 • 16 and 17 September • NEC Birmingham • Stand CT-H270

Designed with the people who use it.

Developed with customers and frontline users, and shaped through real operational use, Whitespace Crew is designed around the pressures crews face in the cab and on the street, from changing priorities and assisted collections to hazards, mandatory checks and fast, accurate exception reporting.

Simpler for crews

Clear jobs, navigation, alerts and property level information, presented in an accessible format designed to minimise screen taps.

Reliable and compliant

Mandatory checks, configurable workflows and complete evidence trails help support safe, consistent service delivery.

Real time visibility

Operational teams can see progress, completed work and reported issues as they happen, helping them respond quickly when circumstances change.

Less administration

Crews capture exceptions, photographs, notes and signatures in the app, reducing reliance on paper and manual updates back at the depot.

Built around the working day

From the first checks of a shift to the final completed job, Whitespace Crew keeps frontline teams connected with the information they need.

  • Receive scheduled, ad hoc and reactive work in one place.
  • View work as a clear list, on a map, or both supporting different services and ways of working.
  • Access navigation, hazards, alerts, assisted collection details and service instructions at the point they are needed.
  • Complete configurable vehicle, PPE and health and safety checks.
  • Record exceptions quickly against a property, asset, street or job.
  • Add photographs, notes and signatures to create a clear operational record.
  • Send issues and incidents back to operational teams in real time and receive updated priorities or newly allocated work.

Clear for crews. Connected for operations.

Whitespace Crew connects frontline activity with the wider Whitespace operational system, giving crews, supervisors and managers one reliable view of work throughout the day. Designed for practical use in demanding frontline environments, its large, legible controls and responsive layout make it easy to use on tablets or mobile devices in portrait or landscape view.

Jobs and navigation

Crews can see allocated work, priorities and status information clearly, then use integrated mapping and turn by turn navigation to reach the next location.

Hazards and service information

Important alerts, assisted collections, access information and property level instructions are displayed where crews need them. Hazards can also be read aloud.

Fast exception reporting

Configurable exception choices help crews record issues with minimal interaction, supported by photographs and notes where needed.

Checks and configurable workflows

Mandatory vehicle, PPE and health and safety checks can be built into the start of the working day, with configurable forms supporting different services and processes.

Evidence and audit trail

GPS data, timestamps, photographs and signatures help teams verify completed work, investigate queries and support accurate customer communications.

Live operational response

Back office teams receive progress and exception information in real time and can issue new work, messages or changing priorities back to crews.

“We’ve developed Whitespace Crew by listening to the people who will use it every day. Their experience has shaped an application that is straightforward for crews, supports reliable service delivery and gives operational teams greater visibility of what is happening out on the road.”
